How To Build a Retaining Wall

 

Construction of Steps

To create steps, the Celtik Step System will make your job easier and faster, this system is composed of steps and concrete risers giving stability to the unit.

Celtik Steps
Celtik steps - note each step size of 180 mm or 7 inches.

The first thing to do is establish how many steps you’ll need.

Each step including the riser and the Capping measures 180 mm or 7 inches.

Bury the first concrete block so that it sits flush with the ground, use a Celtik block or a 4 inch or 10 cm solid concrete block.

Install the concrete Riser

Install the concrete riser.
Fill in the back of the riser with crushed 0-3/4 inch or 0-20mm stone and compact with a jumping jack or vibrating plate. Fill in the back of the riser.

Lay down a Celtik Step Capping Module over it.
Laying a Celtik Cap Module over the stone.
Lay down a 2 or 4 inch or a 5 or 10cm solid concrete block or a Celtik Block.
Make sure its level. Fill in the back of the block and compact.

Install the second Celtik riser and repeat the stage of filling and compacting.
Add a second Celtik Step Capping module, repeat these operations until you reach the desired height.
